Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a visitor enters information in a finder box, the query is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes it under its own terms. The site operator does not store or keep a log of those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor emails the site operator, the message and any reply are kept for the response. The message is not shared outside the operator’s organization unless a legal duty requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
A visit can produce ordinary technical information that helps the site operate and shows how pages are used. This may include:
- Device or network IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, if one is supplied
- Time and date of page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by a browser. The site uses them and analytics services to review aggregate traffic, such as page visits and where use tends to stop. Browser controls can block cookies. Some site functions may respond differently when they are disabled.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping pages available and improving load speed
- Passing a visitor’s query to the selected search provider
- Seeing which information is useful and where updates may help
- Finding technical faults and working to fix them
- Displaying advertising that may relate to a visitor’s interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not keep, build, or sell a database of Briscoe County warrants or personal warrant entries. It publishes general routing information about the sheriff, courts, clerk, and limited DPS hold check. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report about another person.
For official sheriff-held records, the Texas Public Information Act may apply to the governmental office that holds them, subject to exceptions. Judicial records are not automatically governed by that law; ask the court or clerk about its procedure. Neither law turns this private site into a government records office.
Third-Party Search Partners
Finder boxes may be run by outside companies. Information typed into a box is handled under that provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. The provider sets its own retention and sharing practices. Review its terms before sending personal information, and contact the provider with questions about data it receives.
Links to Other Websites
Pages may link to the Briscoe County Sheriff, clerk, JP courts, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor opens another site, its own privacy policy applies. Check that policy before sharing information there.
Some advertising providers may track visits across websites to select advertisements. Those services operate under their own systems and terms.
Who Might See Your Data
The site operator does not sell personal data. Information may be handled by:
- A search provider that receives a submitted query
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on site pages
- A government or law-enforcement body when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect information the operator handles. Online systems cannot be guaranteed free from risk. The operator works to safeguard data but cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and is not designed to collect personal details from people under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has sent information, the site operator can be asked to remove it.
Your Data Rights
The Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 552, concerns government-held records. It does not govern visitor information kept by this private site. A visitor may ask the operator to:
- Provide a copy of information retained about that visitor
- Correct a detail that is inaccurate
- Delete information held by the operator
- Stop certain forms of data processing where available
Requests about an official Briscoe County sheriff record should go to the governmental office that holds it. A judicial-record request belongs with the relevant court or clerk.
Updates to This Policy
The policy may be revised as site practices change. A new version will appear here with an updated effective date. Visitors who want to follow those changes can review this page again.
